#METAL GEAR SOLID V THE PHANTOM PAIN ENDING PC#
While the cutscene triggered on PC as a result of a glitch two years ago, its never been unlocked legitimately - until this week. Thanks for reading! Leave a comment below with your own feelings and such, also check out my review of the game here. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has a secret ending that only unlocks when every single player of the game has eliminated nuclear weapons from their in-game bases. It’s not the perfect Metal Gear story, (for that title goes to either 3 or 4,) but it is a perfect videogame. I built a dynasty unlike any other, and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain reached a new height for me. But in this final chapter, I created the journey. It’s not a traditional Metal Gear game in any way, because in every other entry I’ve felt that I’m helping Snake (or Solid Snake) along his journey. That I’ve been a part of a storyline for so long in gaming, and we’re rewarded with the best gift.
I took it as Kojima telling a player- you’re what made this succeed, not just me. So when this line, “We’re both Big Boss” happens I was awestruck. Because job security isn’t a given in Diamond Dogs! I fultoned countless soldiers, trained them at Mother Base and had the worse ones over time deported. I spent over 200 hours of gameplay starting from one platform on Mother Base to 2 fully equip stations and developing hundreds of guns. It’s not just that Punished “Venom” Snake (the controllable character in MGSV: TPP) built this legacy. My reason is pretty quick and short, but it makes sense. But! Here’s why this is such a great ending for Kojima to finish his groundbreaking series. OHHHHHHHH!!!! HOLY MOLY THEN YOU’RE GUY’S ALL BADASS AND PUNCHES THE MIRROR FOR NO GOOD REASON, MAYBE SYMBOLISM WHO CARES IT’S SO COOL THEN THE REAL ONE DRIVES OFF INTO THE SUNRISE AFTER THE HOSPITAL SEQUENCE AND IT’S MAJESTIC OH MY GOSH!!! In the end of this cassette, there’s an important message. In this moment of the ending, your “Phantom” of Big Boss was listening to a recording by “The Man Who Sold The World,” or the real Big Boss. In the meantime, you were left to be a decoy who built his own legacy. He went to start a new shadow war against Major Zero and Cipher. He left you with his title, as the doctors changed your face to look identical to him. Instead, Big Boss was the bandaged man in the hospital who helped you escape.
You’ve gotten revenge on those who destroyed Mother Base in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, and after outcasting Huey Emmerich and Quiet leaving your side, it’s time that you knew the truth. It discusses a major and pivotal moment in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.Īlright, so just to recap- in the final installment of Metal Gear you play as Big Boss, or Punished “Venom” Snake. While the cutscene triggered on PC as a result of a glitch two years ago, it’s never been unlocked legitimately until this week. In case you’re the fool that doesn’t understand a headline, this is a spoiler filled article.
